ANCESTRY: Alfred Hargreaves' Drawing Book
Joan Hargreaves' father, Alfred Hargreaves
(1875-1952), produced these drawings in 1888,
when he was 13 years of age.
The drawings are numbered representing their position in the book. The first sketch is of
St. Oswald's Church at Grasmere and other
sketches might be of that area too. AN32 is of
Beddgelert in Snowdonia, as might be those
surrounding. Conjecture could suggest a family
touring holiday, perhaps with his parents
Joseph and Isabella, to the Lake District and
Snowdonia. North Wales, particularly
Llandudno, became a favourite place of
recreation for the Hargreaves family down the years.
The drawing book is incribed Alfred Hargreaves.
